Jordan 11 Retro
This stylish Jordan 11 Retro was made to celebrate the record-breaking NBA season achieved by Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls back in ‘95-’96. As such, its nickname is 72-10 – the team’s regular season wins and losses for that year. It follows other classic AJ11 colourways in its use of mostly black and white tones, while other colourful additions give it a distinctive look all of its own.
This begins underfoot with the outsole, which combines a misty white through its translucent body and opaque sections of black rubber in the heel and forefoot. These are marked with herringbone grip lines to provide high levels of traction, while the black and red carbon fibre plate nestled for added support between the outsole and midsole references the Bulls’ famous colours. A black Jumpman silhouette resides in the centre of this feature, where it is visible behind the partially see-through outsole. Above this lies a white midsole whose blend of Phylon foam cushioning and encapsulated Air offers the wearer maximum comfort from heel to toe.
Meanwhile, the upper switches to an all-black design with alluring red highlights. It carries the traditional patent leather mudguard that envelops the lower half of the upper, its shiny surface featuring a gentle pattern that subtly matches the tumbled black leather of the quarter panel. The same classy material can be found on the tongue, and rope laces thread through the looped fabric eyelets that run down either side of it. These develop into bands of black textile that stretch away from the tongue in a web-like pattern.
At the back of the shoe is a black suede overlay with a shiny Gym Red Jumpman adorning its lateral side. The number 23 has been embroidered into the heel tab next to this, in honour of the digits Jordan usually displayed on his jersey. Another red Jumpman shows up on the black insole, which is surrounded by black inner walls made from a softly padded material for a plush feeling around the foot and ankle. Back on the outer, a final Gym Red Jumpman logo resides upon the centre of the tongue, where it is flanked subtly by dark-coloured Jordan and Jumpman text to complete this dapper sneaker.
