Jordan 4 Retro x Travis Scott ‘Cactus Jack’
"University Blue"

The stylish colour palette on this Jordan 4 Retro x Travis Scott ‘Cactus Jack’ collaboration was inspired by the Houston Oilers – a former American football team based out of Scott’s hometown. As such, the upper is composed of University Blue Durabuck, the high-quality leather making up the eyestay, the panel that reaches from the forefoot to the heel, the collar and the overlay that wraps around the toe. Another layer of University Blue can be seen along the top part of the midsole, which also contains white and black pieces of polyurethane. A pocket of Nike Air is visible in the white portion below the heel, providing soft comfort underfoot.
Meanwhile, across the outsole are black and white areas filled with herringbone grip patterns arranged in various different directions. There are two exceptions to this: the smooth white segment under the heel and midfoot, which itself has a Varsity Red Jumpman embossed into its centre, and the black toe cap, whose surface hosts a series of star-shaped nodes.
Returning to the upper, a number of black highlights can be found over the top and heel of the foot. The first is the netting that shows up on each flank, just to the rear of the laces and again below them. The second is the laces themselves, while the third is the TPU cages that accommodate them at each end of the eyestay. These feature a dynamic paint splatter effect of University Blue specks, as do the triangular wings supporting the sidewalls. The black heel panel exhibits the exact same graphic on its exterior and has mismatched adornments embossed upon it in Varsity Red – a Jumpman on the right foot, and a Cactus Jack logo on the left.
The rich burgundy hue of Varsity Red continues on the inside of the shoe, where it coats the internal walls and the sockliner. Larger flecks of University Blue are dotted across this last feature alongside a white Jumpman on the left one and another Cactus Jack logo on the right in black. A large square patch has been sewn into the top of the tongue, once again in light blue tones. Embroidered into it is a final Jumpman above the word “Flight”, both crafted from a silvery grey thread that brings a pleasant sheen to the top of the foot, thus finishing off this classy version of the classic silhouette.
