This collaborative version of the Nike Air Humara came about in 2022 as the result of a compelling new partnership between the athletic apparel brand and luxury French fashion label Jacquemus. Chosen by the brand’s founder, Simon Porte Jacquemus, as it was always his favourite Nike design, the Humara was reinterpreted with creative touches that brought a high-fashion update to the classic 90s silhouette. Its trail running heritage was not forgotten either, as many of the outdoor-focused features of the original model were retained, making this a sophisticated blend of Jacquemus’ boundless creativity and Nike’s footwear expertise.
The smooth leather outer of this Nike Air Humara x Jacquemus sneaker takes on a rich Ale Brown tone that evokes a deeply natural feel. More rustic hues show up on the plush suede overlays, which are a soft beige, and the offbeat textile wrap covering the midsole, which features a black and brown chequered effect. As well as having the construction of a strong boot, this Humara incorporates understated details that produce a rare elegance. The capitalised Jacquemus text subtly debossed into the tongue and heel is one example of this, while another is the dark brown ribbon with a bright pink stripe down its centre that loops gracefully around the back of the foot. Finally, diminutive swooshes bring a touch of artistic flair to the flanks as their golden shimmer accentuates the high-fashion appeal of this suave Air Humara.
Created by innovative designer and out-of-the-box thinker Peter Fogg in 1997, the Air Humara was originally made as a technically proficient trail running shoe for use in difficult terrain and harsh weather. Today, it is experiencing a stunning renaissance as a sporty lifestyle model with a strong aesthetic that delivers high levels of comfort whatever the conditions.

Rubber: Rubber overlays protect the upper while also bringing textural variation.

Three-piece overlays form an arch over each flank.

Short leather swoosh sits on the back half of each sidewall.
Webbed lacing system incorporates bands of textile that criss-cross over each flank, passing beneath the sidewall overlays and forming loops for the thick, sturdy laces to thread through.
Additional textile bands on the heel and tongue each form a pull tab at the top to facilitate easy on and off.
Textile band on the tongue has loops down its centre to hold the laces securely in place.
Oval-shaped tabs adorn the tongue and heel, the former with a thickly embroidered edge as well as Air text and a swoosh woven into it, the latter with simple swoosh embroidery in its centre.
Small swoosh embroidered onto the forefoot overlay and Air lettering woven through the lateral heel display finely crafted style.
Stitching on the sidewall and heel overlays marks where textile bands pass under them.
