Jordan 1 Low Slip

The stripped back look of this Jordan 1 Low Slip gives it a casual aesthetic, while its use of red, white and black tones have earned it the nickname Chicago. It rests upon a Varsity Red outsole lined with a variety of grip formations so that it holds the floor well. Those in the forefoot are rings that emanate out from a central circle on the medial side, and the toe cap is covered in embossed stars. The middle section is one large indented part with Nike branding rising from it, and the heel completes the all-round traction with its loop of lugged structures. Above this sturdy base is a white midsole that combines foam and Air cushioning for supreme comfort.

On the upper, the premium leather exterior contrasts pristine white sections in the toe box and midfoot with vivid Varsity Red overlays. These latter panels comprise the forefoot mudguard and the pair of overlays that emerge from the midsole either side of it, as well as the eyestay, the heel tab and the heel counter. Decorating these last two segments is a series of eye-catching white effects. The lower part has text detailing the swooshes trademark – something that normally appears inside the shoe – and the upper part has a pair of Air Jordan Wings printed onto it. More white lettering is brightly displayed against the black surface of the broad strip of material that travels the length of the white tongue from top to bottom. It also has two sets of Nike Air branding and a Jumpman in the centre, and culminates in a loop at the top of the black-rimmed tongue.

Meanwhile, the shoe’s interior is coated in plush black fabric, allowing the Varsity Red Jumpman logo to boldly shine out from the dark background of the insole. Back on the outer, a few more distinctive elements define this sneaker. Firstly, there are no laces and no eyelets, but just a simple black button on either side of the eyestay at the top. This means that the shoe can be easily slipped on and off, while its three intriguing swooshes are a stylish touch. Two black ones are embroidered into the flanks, and a white one has been delicately woven into the lateral forefoot, thus rounding out this highly wearable sneaker.
